SHANNON FOX
and
ELLICE GRIMM

were married on a sunny Saturday, Mar 8, 2008 in the beautiful gardens of the California State Capital in Sacramento, CA.

The garden spot we chose was lush with flowering trees in full bloom, a large boulder which was the backdrop of our ceremony, and a waterfall and pond off to one side. My (Ellice) best-friend of 20 years, Melody Hutty, presided eloquently - delivering a moving earthy/elemental themed discourse. Several members of Shannon's family and many of our close friends were in attendance. After the ceremony, the reception was held at the Hutty home. Casual family atmosphere, dining on Lasagna with the Hutty family garlic french bread, and a lot of dancing and merriment!

I, Ellice Grimm, legally took Shannon's last name to be my own and we are now...
The Fox Family!

Rings blessed, vows spoken & sealed with a kiss...our love is bound to each other forever.

DARLENE BOGLE
and
BECKY LAKE

were LEGALLY married on Sept 27, 2008 in San Jose, California.

What a joy to have California acknowledge and affirm our equality. We were married
at the First Congregational Church by Rev.Dawn Peters with over 40 friends and family members present.

We chose Lemon Pie rather than a Wedding Cake, and everyone enjoyed the toast. "When life gives lemons, make lemonade, when life gives lots of lemons, bake a pie!"

Thank you for rejoicing with us.

FRANK KAJFES
and
BRYAN WANNOP

were married on May 7, 2006
in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
on their 30th anniversary!

The day started with the Eucharist service at The Church of St John The Evangelist, Ottawa. Their best men read the lessons, the hymns, and the anthem had been chosen in consultation with the Music Director. The rector of
St John's, delivered a wonderful sermon on the Church's inability to marry them and thanked Bryan and Frank for sharing their day with the congregation. At the end of the service, the rector, and the interim associate priest, asked them to come up to the front of the sanctuary, and lead the congregation in the blessing of them and their upcoming marriage.

The actual marriage rite was performed at The Glebe Community Centre, Ottawa, by a Justice of The Federal Court of Canada, a dear friend and neighbour. The nuptial cortege consisted of Madame Justice, Frank's two great-great nieces as flowergirls, Marie-Julie and Camille, Frank's niece, Lise, as his official witness escorted by Rick, Bryan's best man, Bryan's niece, Colleen, as his official witness escorted by Bern, Frank's best man. The grooms were escorted by their sisters, Jeannette and Gloria. Music was provided by members of The Strings of St John's under the direction of Dr Johnston. The processional was "The Triumphal March" from the opera AIDA with the principal trumpetist of The National Arts Centre Orchestra. The solo piece at the signing of the registry was "The Meditation" from the opera THAIS performed by the Music Director on the harp and the concertmaster of the Strings of St John's on the violin.

A reception followed the marriage ceremony. Bryan and Frank were surrounded by the love of their families and over 280 friends.

ALAN
and
NIGEL

celebrated their wedding day on July 7, 2007 in Spain.

It was a beautiful sunny day with the temperatures soaring into the high 30's Celsius (104º F). It was a pleasant afternoon as the sun was high in the sky, and the rays glistened on the Mediterranean Sea beyond the fountain and the gardens, where the ceremony was conducted by an interfaith minister.

We had designed the ceremony ourselves with regard to the personal content and in liaison with the minister who was sensitive to both our needs; we had a religious ceremony that was our desire, not a requirement of the minister.

It was a small wedding with a few very close friends. The event began at 3:30 pm with a selection of classical music playing while the guests gathered and had a glass of Pimms prior to the ceremony.

The ceremony itself began at 4 pm with the minister proceeding ahead of us to the alter, accompanied by another piece of music.

The minister began with a Welcome, and then a time of Reflection. Most of the ceremony was in Spanish to honour our guests. The two readings and the "Confessions of St Augustine" were in English, as the meaning would have been lost in the translation.

It was a typical Spanish Wedding Ceremony with the exchange of Coins (Arras), the exchange and blessing of Wine, the solemn Vows and the exchange of Rings and signing of the Register. All the vows and prayers were in the Catholic Tradition.

The setting was absolutely stunning; the large ornamental fountain was glistening in the afternoon heat of a July day. The ceremony was followed by the most important part of the day for us, an absolutely delightful buffet, where we enjoyed an exquisite feast of dressed salmon, various meats and salads, quails eggs, cheese, melon, other delights, wine and cava. Prepared by the owner/chef at the venue, this was really beyond our expectations. We were delighted.

PEGG KOSCINSKI
and
CASSY FISHER

celebrated their Union on May 26, 2007.

Rev. Lori Rivera officiated the dock side service.

Cassy says: "Pegg and I met on-line, and when we finally met face to face we knew at that moment that we were meant for each other, however we continued to date for 5 months, then deciding "life is to short" and we were going to spend the rest of our lives together, so we exchanged our vows at the Nokomis fishing piers, (my favorite fishing spot) where we first kissed.

We were blessed with our friends witnessing our commitment to each other. We had a small reception at a cafe along the intercostals waterway, spent the evening at a drumming circle and watched the sunset.

We will be vacationing (honeymooning) in P-Town & sharing the news with her family at the end of June for 10 days. And I am happier than I have ever been...."

THE PEACOCK WEDDING

After a 36-year wait and a four-year court case Bob (kilt) and Lloyd (tux) Peacock were finally married at Ryerson United Church in Vancouver, B.C., Canada on July 17, 2004. The wedding was performed by three pastors and attended by about 100 friends and family.

A reception was held at the Law Courts Inn, which held many great memories. It is located in the very building, (The Law Courts) where 8 couples gained the right to marry. The grooms and guests enjoyed a fabulous meal followed by dancing until midnight.

The wedding and reception was filmed by the National Film Board for their documentary, "I Thee Wed", which will be released in the spring.

Note from Mary: Bob & Lloyd were involved in the court case for equal marriage in Canada. Read the presentation that they made to the government's Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights back on April 1, 2003 before they won the right to marry.
